Lara Platman, who has specialised in photographing performers, turns her lens to the Art Workers in their workshops. The words and pictures show 130 of the many outstanding designers and makers at work in Britain, recording the lives of dedicated commitment, practical wisdom and enjoyment of the unexpected.
The book includes a brief history of the Art Workers Guild and a description of it’s role written by past master Alan Powers with a complete list of members and their occupations at the time of publishing in 2009.
