Lara Platman, who has specialised in photographing performers, turns her lens to the Art Workers Guild and its members in their workshops. The words and pictures show 130 of the many outstanding designers and makers at work in Britain, recording the lives of dedicated commitment, practical wisdom and enjoyment of the unexpected.
The book includes a history of the Art Workers’ Guild written by past master Alan Powers, with a complete list of members and their occupations at the time of publishing in 2009.
