Susie Vickery

Susie Vickery is an artist specialising in embroidery and textiles, with over twenty years’ experience as a theatre and film costumier. Alongside her fine art practice, she has worked extensively on women’s development projects across Asia, including Nepal, Tibet, India and China. She has contributed to Wellcome Trust–funded art and health projects in Mumbai and rural Mexico. These experiences inform her embroidered works, which explore identity, gender, iconography and Asian art traditions.
