Rosamond Ulph
Category Painter, Printmaker
Region South East
Rosamond Ulph began art seriously when her family was young, and at that time painted mostly botanical studies. She has exhibited a number of times at the Royal Horticultural Society for which she has been awarded medals. Later, Rosamond moved on to calligraphy and printmaking.
It was the discovery of a book on English field names in the library at Flatford Mill which prompted the field maps which she has developed over the last 15 years as a response to the enclosure of fields in England, and the names inherited by many fields. This led Rosamond into a fascination with the names of birds, apples, English dances and even English weather.
