Phillida Gili is an illustrator and writer mainly, but not only, of children’s books, as well as a private press publisher (Warren Editions). Her illustrated books include John Betjeman’s only children’s book ’Archie and the Strict Baptists’ and as author and illustrator ’The Lost Ears’ (Julian McRae Books, Picture Knight, Boxer Books). She has a particular interest in paper engineering and pop-up books. Her pop-up books include ’The Nutcracker’ (Orchard Books), ’The Sleeping Beauty’ (Doubleday), ’Cinderella’ (Bloomsbury), and she has written about the history of paper engineering for the Private Libraries Association. Phillida is a past President of the Double Crown Club.
