Category Jewellery Designer, Textile Designer
Region London
Monica has always had a fascination and passion for materials and their potential. She has experimented with a variety of materials and techniques over the last twenty years. After a first career in teaching she became a jeweller working with silver, semi-precious stones and resin. In 2006 after a series of serendipity encounters with other creatives she created a range of handbags in London, in memory of her mother Marianne. These bags have been bought and sold all over UK and abroad and were an extremely successful venture. Alongside the production of the bags Monica owned her own shop in Twickenham from 2009 - 2014 and was continuously creating new work. Through her love of textiles and surface print she has learned to screen print and to create personal pieces transferring imagery onto fabric. Currently she is excited to create some digitally printed fabrics and jewellery which brings her work together. Monica has sold her work for years in shows and galleries and works in a shared studio in Isleworth, West London. She is very happy to take commissions and create a personal piece for you.
