William Thomas

Bill Thomas set up a practice in 1974 called Pollard Thomas Edwards (PTE), with Roger Pollard and John Edwards. From the start PTE combined an unusual set of aims and attributes: a commitment to finding out what end-users really want; a challenge to orthodox post-war modernism; a belief that new buildings should be respectful to their surroundings; an enthusiasm for complex and messy redundant sites and buildings, and a determination to put the practice’s ideas into action through direct property development.
