The Art Workers’ Guild
There will be one or two events a month from September 2023 to July 2024, usually on Wednesday or Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings.
Most will take place in person at the Art Workers’ Guild at 6 Queen Square, London WC1N 3AT.
Three or four hands-on creative workshops. These will offer a convivial opportunity to learn a new skill or find parallels and connections with other people’s ways of working, and to discuss your own projects and goals.
Three or four discussion evenings. These informal, sociable events will bring together programme participants and Guild members to discuss different aspects of establishing and sustaining a creative professional practice. Some discussions will be quite practical (how to secure commissions, manage a studio etc) while others might explore more creative or ethical questions.
A summer studio visit day. A fieldtrip to see Guild members’ studios.
Access to the Guild’s Ordinary Meetings in 2023 and 2024. Guild meetings take place on Thursday evenings, with a talk from an invited guest followed by drinks and sandwiches. They can be attended in-person or via Zoom to see a list of planne speakers, please click here.
Closing exhibition. At the end of the 12 months, programme participants will be invited to showcase their work at the Art Workers’ Guild in Queen Square. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the conclusion of the programme and present work to the public and invited guests.
