Biography
Simon Hurst trained at Bath University and The Prince of Wales’ Institute of Architecture.
Worked for John Simpson and John Outram, and since 2001 working for himself.
In 1998 he was awarded a travelling scholarship from the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, learning the crafts of historic bulding conservation.
Projects include the design of a new great hall for a Tudor manor house in Kent, works to a Grade I listed country house by Sir John Soane, extensions and alterations to several listed buildings in London and Essex. Alterations to properties in St. Tropez, Moscow, a new Classical library interior in Paris, major alterations and new works to a substantial Grade II* house in Chelsea. A new ‘manor house estate’ residential development in Essex.
