Introduction
I am a specialist in the history of the domestic interiors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and the history of wallpapers.
I work as a freelance researcher, writer, lecturer and exhibition curator. As a consultant, I offer advice on the restoration of historic interiors. I am working on a PhD project on Homemaking and Material Culture in the 19th Century.
I am currently researching a group of photographs of a London villa, taken in 1878. I’m following all leads, wherever they take me, and have been very lucky so far the photographs turn out to be of the home of a very eccentric aristocrat, painter, writer, traveller and theatre designer.
