Introduction
Trained as a painter at Chelsea, I now work with drawing, collage, constructions and photography. The work is informed by a personal wide ranging eclectic knowledge of art history which crosses all times, civilisations and both high and low cultures, alongside this is a great love of and familiarity with museums from national collections to small local and specific collections. Collages reference to figures in spaces, both intimate and distant, using my own photography, found images and painting, often with reference to an artifact, painting or story found in a museum.

New work STILL LIVES STILL LIFE
Stealing glimpses into other people’s front rooms, peeping into their intimate spaces, straining to see personal objects more clearly. By then we have walked past. These images then fuse with other memories, become blurred, vague recollections, impressions, softened by time.
In the later part of her life my 102-year-old mother told stories of houses she had visited as a child, her memory confusing them with places she had recently been. She created a new narrative where the edges between imagination and authenticity became blurred. ‘Still Lives Still Life’ brings together these two elements of experience. All these images originate in dolls houses displayed from the Victoria & Albert Museum of Childhood . Through photography the miniatures of everyday objects transform into pictorial still lives.
